And The Winner of the I Heart Holga Contest Is!

I would like to thank all of the people who entered the I Heart Holga contest.

I like sponsoring photo contests because it allows me to promote photoMFA.com while encouraging people to make beautiful photos. For me, this contest was about choosing an image that was creative and interesting without being cliche or using cheap tricks.

The winner is Amy McGovern

I like how Amy used multiple exposures to transform a cityscape into a German Expressionist landscape similar to Fritz Lang's Metorpolis. In addition, I like how the varying transparencies of the skyscraper shapes add emotion to the image. Finally, if you dedicate time to exploring the details of the image, you will be rewarded with interesting shapes and textures. The forms on the right side of the image suggest movement and scale while white globes hint at a night scene.
