Learn More About The Ilfochrome Print Process
Ilfochrome is an analog photographic process used to make positive prints from slides. Originally called, Cibachrome, Ilfochrome was developed by Ciba-Geigy of Switerland before being sold to Ilford. Ilford renamed the product Ilfochrome Classic and continues to manufacture the required paper and necessary chemistry. Ilfochrome prints are said to have a very long shelf life.
There is a lot of confusion about who actually makes Ilfochrome products and wether or not Ilfochrome has been discontinued. Ilfochrome is made by Ilford Switzerland which is not the same as Ilford UK.
